With a desire to break down musical barriers and work with talented artists from various genres, award-winning producer, songwriter and composer Eddy J. Free has taken a classical training in piano and composition and combined it with his love of hip-hop, electronica, EDM, soul and pop.
His music's been heard on shows such as MTV's 'The Real World' and he's worked with eclectic artists from around the globe including 2x Grammy nominee B.Slade, acclaimed rap artists Dremur and Verbal Science and noted gospel recording artist Tim Dillinger. He's learned from platinum producer Kayo (La Face Records, Toni Braxton, TLC) and Grammy-award winning producer and bass player Andrew Gouche (Chaka Khan, Mary Mary, The Winans and Warren G.)
Most recently, Eddy has begun working with the seminal New York-based dance music label Peace Bisquit, home of artists such as Chris Willis, Cazwell, Ultra Nate, Colton Ford and Brooklyn Funk Essentials and cutting edge producers like WAWA, Bill Coleman, Craig C and John J-C Carr.
Since 2010, Eddy has released 13 projects of hiw own, featuring dozens of artists. His latest project, titled "Phoenix Burn" delves heavily into EDM and dubstep and is available now on Bandcamp. He's currently working on his most ambitious project to date, titled 'CITY LIGHTS.'
CITY LIGHTS IS A MULTI-MEDIA PROJECT COMBINING MUSIC, DANCE, PHOTOGRAPHY AND VIDEOS. THE FIRST SINGLE WILL BE RELEASED IN JUNE.
